Project Brief:
Project Overview
We were honoured to be entrusted with a massive lighting project by our valued customer, Minor, Weir & Willis. Their goal was to elevate production quality and streamline operations through an advanced lighting system. This project required high LUX levels to ensure impeccable quality control for their outstanding produce, enhancing the efficiency and ease of tasks for their dedicated employees.
Project Requirements
The project specifications were demanding. In addition to achieving high LUX levels, Minor, Weirs & Willis needed:
- DALI sensors integration
- Emergency lighting synced with their Building Management System (BMS), alerting them of any EM lighting failures.
Implementation
We began by installing 9 lights specifically for the quality control area. This initial step was crucial to ensure correct optics and beam angles, meeting the stringent requirements of Minor, Weir & Willis. Upon approval, we proceeded to the large-scale installation phase.
We installed 323 mobLED light fittings across their factory and warehouse. These lights not only provided optimal lighting conditions but also combined seamlessly with the new emergency lighting and motion sensors, creating an efficient management system that reduces energy usage when areas are not in use.

The results of this project were impressive, showcasing significant energy savings and CO2 reduction. Our innovative solutions delivered:

Allaero required hi-tech lighting to compliment our state of the art warehouse. interLED exceeded our expectations with their service and product supplies, and now we have a showcase warehouse. The system is completely automated with PIRs which compliment the 30% dimming function on the units, so when the warehouse is not in a rush period the lights dim to save power but still provide visibility. As soon as movement is detected the particular section of the warehouse illuminates instantly providing excellent working light.

Our honest opinion on the interRAY heaters is that they heat the space up far better than the gas warm air heaters - our technicians are much happier with this heating option and the room will stay warmer even with the roller doors in pretty constant use. They are also more environmentally friendly and the cost was a fraction of the gas equivalent works we will have needed. They are smart looking and effective heaters.
